A little guidance.
A whole world ahead.

MU Legend is an action RPG: move through groups of enemies, aim your abilities, collect equipment and grow your character. This guide takes you from your first quest to your first dungeon routine on MorgarMU.

Character cap 85 2× monster EXP & Soul EXP 1× drops

01 / Get comfortable

Your first hour.

You do not need to understand every menu before you start. Choose a class that appeals to you, then focus on the main quest, a few useful skills, and equipment you can wear.

  1. Finish the tutorial and follow the main quest

Continue into Dudrin. Read the quest tracker for your next destination, speak to the marked NPCs, and return to turn in completed quests. If you lose the route, open your quest list and review the active objective.

  2. Learn to move before you pull a crowd

Left-click the ground to move, or an enemy or NPC to attack or interact. For keyboard movement, enable Keyboard Assist → WASD Move + Auto Target in Options. Practice on a small group, and move out of visible enemy attack warnings. Use the key labels on your action bar for attacks; skill bindings can be changed.

  3. Use a small set of skills well

Read each skill's description, resource cost and cooldown. Try an attack for single targets, one for groups, and a defensive or movement tool when available. Watch cooldowns and available skill charges before engaging another group.

  4. Equip your rewards and check your supplies

Open your inventory after receiving equipment. Compare the new item's requirements and useful stats with what you wear. Put usable recovery potions on your quick bar and keep some inventory space free before leaving town.

  5. Collect your permanent costume and costume wings

Check your starter rewards and the Guide's permanent costume and wing mission. These provide the same stats as paid permanent equivalents. Costume wings are separate from the normal wing upgrade system. If the mission has just unlocked, reconnect or gain a level to complete it. See the reward details →

Five menus worth knowing

  • I Inventory
  • J Quests
  • K Skills
  • M Map
  • Z Soul Chest

These are the English starting keys. If you have changed shortcuts, use your bindings in Options. Soul Chest is where you review Soul progression and points.

Before you leave town

Check your weapon, available skill slots, usable potions and free bag space. Then continue the main quest. You can learn the deeper systems as the game introduces them.

02 / Pick a combat style

Which class looks fun?

Start with the style you want to play. Your weapon and skill choices help shape how each class fights.

Dark Lord

A sturdy frontline fighter with area attacks and skills that support allies.

Blader

A mobile melee fighter with charges and crowd control.

Whisperer

A mobile ranged fighter using bows or wing guns, with traps and control tools.

War Mage

A spellcaster with area attacks; weapon choices support ranged or closer combat.

Spellbinder

A ranged fighter who manipulates weapons and controls enemies.

Black Phantom

A dark-magic caster using Dark Essence, burst damage and lingering area skills.

Try your first skills in the tutorial before worrying about an endgame build. The game supports six classes, including Black Phantom.

03 / Make your character stronger

Make sense of your equipment.

Combat Power (CP) is a quick summary of your equipment and character strength. Use it as a clue, then read the item's actual stats, class restrictions and level requirement.

While you are leveling

Equip compatible quest rewards and drops as you find upgrades. Keep materials until you understand what they are used for. A reward can arrive before you are high enough level to equip or use it.

Before spending materials

Check the cost and success chance shown in the upgrade window. On MorgarMU, a failed equipment enhancement keeps your item and its enhancement level, but still uses the listed supplies.

Enchanting, dismantling, sockets and gems: what is the difference?
Enchanting
Attempts to raise an item's enhancement level, shown with a + number.
Dismantling
Turns unwanted equipment into materials. The equipment is consumed, so check the selected items carefully.
Sockets and gems
A socket is a space in compatible equipment; a suitable gem adds its listed effect when inserted.
Item options
Extra stats on equipment. Before resetting them, check which options can change and the cost in materials and currency.

Linda's level-65 equipment lessons introduce these actions in order. You do not need to rush expensive upgrades on every item you replace.

04 / Understand your progress

Character level and Soul level.

Character level

Your main level unlocks progression, skills and equipment. The current cap is 85. Follow the main quest while leveling and check each activity's entry requirements.

Soul level

A separate progression system with its own EXP bar and Soul points. Open the Soul screen to review the bonuses you can invest in. Reaching character level 85 does not finish your Soul progression.

MorgarMU gives 2× monster character EXP and 2× monster Soul EXP. Quest rewards stay at their normal rate. Level differences and earned buffs affect the final amount, so every kill will not award the same EXP.

What about pets, wings and artifacts?

These are additional ways to develop your character. Read their bonuses and requirements when introduced, and keep relevant materials rather than spending them blindly. Linda's Pets and Wings track follows Equipment; Artifacts and Dungeons follows that. Focus on the basics first.

05 / A route through the game

What should I do next?

  1. 1–64

    Follow the story

Finish the tutorial, continue through the main quest, try new skills and replace equipment as you progress. Return to town to clear bag space and restock usable supplies.

  2. 65

    Meet Ohrdor's equipment merchants

Open Linda's Training: Equipment. Start the Room of Duty and Ohrdor lessons, then practice enchanting, dismantling, sockets, gems and item options. Lupa's Labyrinth and Endless Tower are also available from 65, subject to their entry requirements.

  3. 70

    Add a daily dungeon routine

Continue Linda's Blood Castle lesson. The daily missions offer 100 bound Redzen each for Blood Castle, Endless Tower floor 10 or higher, and Lupa's Labyrinth difficulty 1 or higher: up to 300 per character per day. Claim each reward and open its chest.

  4. 80

    Continue the later dungeon lessons

Luery's Secret Vault, Warped Magic Gem Mine and Fabrice's Garden require level 80. Linda's Equipment track finishes with the Vault and Mine before the next training track opens. Some earlier reward items become usable at this level.

  5. 85

    Build beyond the level cap

Focus on improving useful equipment, Soul progression and the pet, wing and artifact systems. Work toward an activity your current gear can handle instead of treating level 85 as proof that every dungeon is ready to clear.

Playing on your own?

At an eligible dungeon entrance, select a difficulty and use Enter (Space). Auto Party Matching waits for five players. Cancel an active matching search before direct entry. Level, Combat Power, tickets and entry limits still apply.

Claim the reward for your current Linda lesson to advance to the next. Reaching level 65 opens the track; its later dungeon lessons still require 70 or 80.

06 / Spend with a purpose

Know what you are spending.

Zen
The everyday currency used by merchants and many upgrade systems.
Magic Gems
A separate gameplay resource used by various upgrades, distinct from the gems you place in equipment sockets. Check the icon and amount in the confirmation window.
Redzen & bound Redzen
Distinct balances used for eligible Legend Shop offers. Earn bound Redzen through the level-70 daily route. An offer's displayed currency determines which balance it uses.
MToken
The website's purchased currency for eligible appearance and mount offers. Free permanent costume and wing rewards provide the same stats as paid permanent equivalents. You do not need to start with a purchase.

When something seems unaffordable, check the required currency rather than adding together different balances. Read the earned-currency route →

07 / Common first-time questions

A few easy things to miss.

I received an item, but cannot use it.

Check its class, level and other requirements. Some Linda rewards are supplies for later; Special Recovery Potions require level 80. A higher-level reward is not an instruction to equip it immediately.

My dungeon search never starts.

Auto Party Matching waits for five players. Cancel matching and use Enter (Space) for direct entry when eligible. If entry is refused, read the requirement shown in the game.

Linda's next lesson is not available.

Claim the current lesson's reward first. Check that you meet the next dungeon's level requirement: Blood Castle is 70, and the Vault and Magic Gem Mine are 80. Later training categories require completion of the earlier category.

I did an activity but did not receive bound Redzen.

Check that the daily mission is active and its objective is complete, then claim the reward and open the chest. The cap is 300 per character per daily cycle. A previously assigned daily list may need its next normal reset to show the current missions.

Something in the game does not match this guide.

Close the game and let the normal launcher's Check Files finish. If it still looks wrong, tell us the exact screen or item, your class and level, and what you expected. Do not share your password.

You are ready for the first quest.
